fg-to-sell-cbn-governor-emefieles-753-unit-housing-estate

The Federal Government has just announced some big plans, folks. They’re looking to sell off a whopping 753 housing units that they managed to recover from none other than former Central Bank Governor, Godwin Emefiele. It’s all part of their strategy to deal with proceeds of crime, you know? The word came out in a statement dropped on Tuesday in Abuja by Salisu Haiba, Director Press and Public Relations over at the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development.

So, get this – the Ministry has actually taken possession of this estate which includes those 753 units of duplexes that were snatched back by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) from Emefiele. The plan is to put these houses up for sale to the public and also for any special government needs that may pop up. The handover of this housing estate was done by the Executive Chairman of EFCC, Olanipekun Olukoyede, to the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Ahmed Dangiwa.

Now, Dangiwa is all about giving props to the EFCC for their ongoing efforts in the fight against corruption and making sure public assets are recovered. He’s talking about how they’re going to do some joint tour of the facility with the EFCC team to really check things out. They want to make sure everything is safe and good to go for people to move in. The plan is to sell these units to the public and anyone else who might need them, and they’re going to be super transparent about the whole process, with ads going out nationwide and folks submitting their interest through the Renewed Hope Portal. So, keep an eye out for that if you’re in the market for a new place in Abuja!
