Sokoto State Government Empowers Commercial Riders with Discounted Tricycles and Motorcycles
In a bid to enhance transportation accessibility and affordability in Sokoto State, the government has taken a significant step by providing 1,000 motorcycles and 500 tricycles to commercial riders at an impressive 80% discount. This initiative aims to benefit the masses and create more employment opportunities within the state.
Generous Gesture for Economic Empowerment
Governor Ahmed Aliyu, who spearheaded the distribution ceremony on a bustling Saturday, highlighted the importance of this gesture in improving the lives of the beneficiaries and their families. The tricycles, originally priced at N3.6 million, and motorcycles, valued at N1.3 million, were made available to the recipients at incredibly reduced rates, amounting to a commendable effort towards economic empowerment.
Affordable Payment Plans and Responsibilities
To further support the beneficiaries, the government offered flexible payment options, requiring an initial deposit of N150,000 for tricycles and N50,000 for motorcycles, along with one guarantor for each recipient. The monthly payment scheme set at N15,000 for tricycles and N5,000 for motorcycles ensures that the economic burden is manageable for the riders.
