The federal government recently unveiled the first-ever barracks for the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Yola, Adamawa State. The inauguration of this essential facility marks a significant milestone in the agency’s efforts to combat drug abuse and trafficking nationwide.
NDLEA Chairman and Chief Executive, Mohamed Buba Marwa (rtd), emphasized the critical role the new barracks would play in enhancing the agency’s operational efficiency. Previously, the lack of dedicated accommodation for NDLEA officers had left them and their families vulnerable to various risks. The newly commissioned facility, situated on an 18-hectare site in Kwanan Waya, boasts office complexes, residential units, and auxiliary amenities to support NDLEA operations effectively.

Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi, hailed the barracks project as a vital investment in human capital. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd), came together to cut the ceremonial tape at the inauguration ceremony.
